✒ Ansel Clearwater-Wright: her adopted older brother. His parents were taken by the shades and they took him in. He’s twenty-five now, and supports Artemis in any way possible.
✒ Chrome Wright: her single father. They have a strained relationship; he’s very traditional, and doesn’t approve- of anything.

♠ H i s t o r y
She had a turbulent childhood, to say the least.

She was raised in a society in turmoil, and her mom died in the chaos when she was only seven. Her dad, who had been away fighting the shades and whom she had never known, returned to take care of her. A year later they found Ansel alone in the wreckage of a recent shade attack, alone grieving over his dead family, and they took him in.

Ansel gave her the support she needed after her mother’s death, and they both adapted well to the new world when they arrived. her brother quickly found a job and she finished high school. When she decided she wanted to go to the academy, he told her it was a great idea, giving her the confidence to ignore her father’s objections.

She was nervous about joining the academy at first; she really wanted to fight shades, but a structured system didn’t exactly suit her rebellious nature. However, her newfound elemental power was becoming a handful, and moving away from her father was a big perk. On her first day she met Hyperion, and they got along so well that she hasn’t worried since. Regardless, she never stopped being a handful…

✒ Bow and arrows; a fairly standard weapon, and the only one she knows how to use (she took archery in school and did fairly well at it).

✒ Skipped a grade and graduated high school a year early; thus, she was able to enter the academy at 17.
✒ Hates shades with an uncontrollable passion; after seeing what they did to Ansel and his family firsthand, she can’t help herself. It’s the driving force behind her decision to attend the Academy.
